Cutting back on sweet foods

Lets just say, when a government health agency
declares war on a new enemy, you want to be all over that subject with SEO,
keywords, and PPC. Why? Because they are about to put tons of bucks into ad
campaigns and education on the subject, which will then intern, lead people to
the Internet to get more information. So if you are in a fitness, weight loss,
or nutrition field, you need to be aware of the Public Enemy #1 at the American
Heat Association.

Calorie counting is a tough job, but the American
Heart Association insists that there is something else that people should be
counting. The American Heart Association is urging consumers to cut back on the
amount of sugar that they take in on a daily basis. Cutting back on sweet foods
is something that millions of people struggle with daily, but the association
hopes that people will pay attention.

Consumers use sugar in several different ways. It
is commonly used in coffee, soda, tea, cookies, cake and ice cream. The Heart
Association is now advocating that people should not take in more than 100
calories of sugar per day. In spoon form, this would limit you to only eating 6
teaspoons of sugar per day. If you are a cola drinker, then one can per day
would already put you over this limit.

Data was taken between the years of 2001 and 2004
that showed consumers take in an average of 355 calories of sugar every single
day. This sounds like a lot, but it only takes three cans of sodas or a couple
pieces of cake to reach this total. It is not the first time that the American
Heart Association has urged consumers to cut back on their sugar intake. It is
however the first time that they have mentioned an amount that people should
limit themselves to.

Even though there is no concrete evidence that
sugar is a leading cause of obesity, many experts believe that it is. Obesity
can be caused by a numerous amount of factors that include genetics, the amount
of physical activity that a person gets and the types of foods that they eat. If
sugar does directly lead to obesity, that in turn can lead to other health
problems, including those of the heart.

If you plan on taking the advice from the American
Heart Association, then you are probably wondering how you are going to please
your sweet tooth. The organization mentions that they are only talking about
sugars which are added to foods during the manufacturing or making process. It
is not including sugars which can commonly be found in fruit and other natural
sources. Eating fruits such as strawberries, blueberries and peaches can cure a
sweet tooth and they will also provide you with vitamins.

Cutting back on sugar is nothing new. School
systems have been eliminating sugary snacks and drinks from their lunch menus
and vending machines for the past several years. Local governments and even the
President of the United States have made statements regarding how important it
is to limit sugar intake in children. Even when you go to the doctor, you
receive warnings about sugary items that you include in your diet.

Whether or not the public will listen to what the
American Heart Association has to say is unknown at this time. Many people
believe that sugar is fine as long as it’s in moderation and if they include
healthy foods in their diet. More research will certainly be done in the future
and those studies will continue to give us a better idea of how bad sugar is for
us.

We have jumped in front of this big wave and plan
to surf it home with our low sugar (as opposed to acai) and high on protien,

As stated in my previous article, there are different ways to build muscle fast. You have to ask yourself some questions. How often do you want to go to the gym? How hard (intense) do you want to train when you are there. If you do not want to go to failure or close to failure, then you might not want to follow a high intensity routine. In this routine you would lift the weight until you can not do any more reps. it’s not easy and requires a great deal of will power.

When training with high intensity, you will need a lot of time to recover. Maybe a few days to a week or more per body part. If you enjoy going to the gym a lot and do not want to push yourself and train high intensity, you might want to try another routine,. One where you can not go to failure and save a little bit for the next workout which might be a few days later.

I prefer high intensity and I believe it is the fastest way to gain muscle but not the only way. And there are so many hours in the day. Why spend too long in the gym and too long training each body part. Hit each body part once a week and hit them hard. Then rest and eat. Go to failure on each set or close to failure and do not do more than a couple of sets per exercise and a couple of sets per body part.

So remember, if you train with high intensity, train only for a short period of time and not too often. Get the rest and nutrition you need to recover and grow. Train, eat, rest, and grow is the formula to build bigger muscle.

Pimples are so ugly, no one likes to have them they make you feel uncomfortable. This is why the minute they show up people scurry about finding cures to help get rid of the ugliness. Though there is nothing wrong with being obsessed with eliminating and getting rid of pimples it would be foolish to attempt a solution to the problem without first identifying what causes pimples. It makes sense to want to attack the final result the pimple, but it makes sense also to find the cause of the mysterious pimple and fix that first. To attack just the zit would be an endless process so getting to the root of the problem would cause less stress.

How to Rid Acne Scars

Don’t Touch Your Face!

People always touch there face with what seems to be clean hands but as we all should know already bacteria is on almost every thing we touch and when we touch are faces that’s where most zits pop up. The oil along with dirt and bacteria on your fingers can irritate the area mean that you might start seeing pimples pop up right where you touched. Popping and picking at your pimples wont mean that their gone you can cause them to spread the results of that happening no one wants.

Junk and fast food are things you’ll find out that cause your pimple break outs. Deep fried foods that are cooked in vegetable oil contain saturated oils witch can cause your pimple break outs along with sugar. Try to stay away from chips and burgers along with candy such as cakes and chocolate any thing in these families.

How to Rid Acne Scars

Stressing out is another piece of information that causes pimples along with oily skin. The oilier your skin is the possibility of the oil building up in your pores and getting pimples is greater. To avoid this from happening wash your face with a face wash a few times a day that has sorbital or even glycerin in it ,it should help keep the break outs to a minimum.

For a person whose skin is dry one of the best solutions in regard to understanding both what causes pimples and how to prevent the condition is to drink plenty of water which will hydrate the skin and also help unclog the pores.

Having understood what causes pimples you can now look at possible solutions that will help address the causes and then do something to remove the problem.

Miss Benning was a health teacher at the most financially challenged co-educational high school in the local community. Although she had been teaching for only one year, she had already gained a reputation as a person with teaching techniques that stimulated and inspired her students to learn and to think.

For example, one Wednesday afternoon she addressed her students and stated the following: “For the next few days we are going to learn about some basic alcoholism facts from a more broad-based standpoint and we are also going to learn about a number of the most familiar signs of alcoholism from a more detailed viewpoint.”

“Not all of these alcoholism signs will without doubt reveal that someone with a drinking problem is a person who is alcohol dependent, but the more signs that a drinker manifests, the higher the probability that he or she is an alcohol dependent person.”

Miss Benning then explained to the the students that each person would be held responsible for examining three alcohol dependence signs and then presenting his or her results to the rest of the class via a twenty minute oral presentation.

The Pupils are Keyed Up About Giving A Broad-Based Presentation to Their Fellow Pupils About Alcoholism Signs

After learning about the various signs of alcohol addiction for a number of days, the time had finally come for the individual presentations. It was at once apparent that her pupils were keyed up about the subject because the information that they presented was first-rate. To say that Miss Benning was pleasantly surprised with the passion exhibited by her pupils concerning this subject could not be overstated.

The day after all of the pupils completed their presentations, Miss Benning passed out a sheet of paper with a list of all the alcohol dependency signs that were discussed and presented in class and in the presentations. Miss Benning then asked her pupils to study the list and rank the top ten alcoholism signs that were most indicative of alcoholism. After roughly twenty minutes, Miss Benning collected the sheets of paper and informed the students in her class that after she analyzes the results, she will present her findings the next school day.

There was some real anticipation by the pupils while they were exiting Miss Benning’s classroom. One could swear that her pupils couldn’t wait for the next day to come so that they could find out the results of their in-class research.

The Pupils Contrast Their Numbers With the Evaluations From A Board of Alcoholism Professionals

When the next school day finally came, Miss Benning handed out a piece of paper that listed the top five alcoholism signs according to the pupils’ rankings. Next to these results, she added another column that was labeled “experts’ response.” She then informed her students that the numbers in the new column she added stood for the answers that were articulated by a council of drug and alcohol abuse professionals.

Miss Benning told the students in her class to go over the data on the sheet of paper she handed out and then to raise their hand if they had any concerns, issues, or questions. Within 20 or 30 seconds, virtually every pupil in the class raised his or her hand. It was noticeable that the pupils had some questions, issues, or concerns about their results versus the answers given by the authorities. For instance, virtually every pupil had an issue with the highest ranked answer given by the experts, to be exact, “Do you feel exceedingly ill when you refrain from drinking?”

The Most Important Difference Between Alcohol Abuse and Alcohol Addiction is the Physical Addiction That is Experienced With Alcohol Addiction and Not With Alcohol Abuse

Miss Benning then told the pupils in her classroom why this answer was the most clear-cut indicator of alcohol dependency. She pointed out the fact that the basic difference between alcoholism and alcohol abuse is the physical dependency that is experienced with alcoholism and not with alcohol abuse.

For all intents and purposes this means that when a person who is addicted to alcohol all of a sudden quits drinking, he or she will go through alcohol withdrawal symptoms.

Miss Benning then informed the pupils in her class that alcohol withdrawal symptoms are responses by the body and by the brain to the deficiency of alcohol to which they had become accustomed. Stated more precisely, alcohol withdrawal symptoms are signals from the brain and from the body telling an alcohol addicted person that something is terribly incorrect and needs to be rectified. These signals consist of several dangerous, painful, and uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms that can potentially lead to a loss of life if the appropriate treatment is not immediately undertaken.

Miss Benning then listed the host of alcohol withdrawal symptoms that can be gone through when an alcohol dependent person abruptly quits drinking.

The point that Miss Benning tried to underline was this: an individual who engages in alcohol abuse can experience almost any and every one of the alcohol dependency signs that the students had ranked, but the one symptom or sign that few, if any, people who engage in alcohol abuse ever experience is alcohol withdrawal symptoms.

To state this as plainly as possible, Miss Benning underscored the point that alcohol abusers, unlike individuals who are addicted to alcohol, are not alcohol dependent and accordingly, when they quit drinking, they almost never go through alcohol withdrawal symptoms.

The Students Believe They Have Discovered An Irregularity With the Findings From The Council of Alcoholism Professionals

The students also had a problem with the second ranked answer given by the chemical dependency authorities, specifically, “Have you ever had a drink the first thing in the morning to steady your nerves or to get rid of a hangover?”

Miss Benning informed the students in her classroom that this sign does not necessarily signify that the problem is alcohol dependency, but that it does point to the need that alcohol addicted individuals have to drink in order to steer clear of alcohol withdrawal symptoms.

After Miss Benning explained the significance of alcohol withdrawal symptoms in the life of the alcohol dependent person, the pupils started to comprehend the primary difference between alcohol abuse and alcohol dependency.

To add a sense of closure to the subject, Miss Benning asked her pupils to take out a piece of paper and answer the following question: “if every person who is addicted to alcohol knew about every one of the alcohol dependency signs and alcohol withdrawal symptoms we have studied, what percentage of them do you think would get alcohol treatment?”

After approximately two or three minutes, Miss Benning asked for the students’ answers. While many pupils believed that approximately 70 to 80 percent of people who are alcohol dependent would obtain alcohol addiction treatment if they knew about the facts related to alcohol withdrawal symptoms and alcohol dependency signs, most of the students believed that this number would not be less than 55 percent.

The Pupils Were Shocked to Learn That Only 25% of Alcohol Dependent Individuals in the United States Get Alcohol Treatment

To the amazement of most of the pupils, Miss Benning acknowledged that according to different scientific investigations, only 25% of the alcohol addicted people in the U.S. ask for alcohol rehabilitation. This surprised most of the pupils because they figured that first-hand knowledge of the awful facts and statistics related to alcoholism would motivate most of the alcohol dependent people to obtain alcoholism rehabilitation.

Miss Benning then explained that individuals who are addicted to alcohol not only need alcohol on an everyday basis in order to function but they also require alcohol everyday so they can avert possible alcohol withdrawal symptoms. Clearly, the alcohol addicted person’s need to drink on a daily basis is more powerful than logic or facts. Definitely, because the thirst for alcohol is “reality” to the alcoholic, this is difficult to negate.

A few minutes later the bell rang, indicating that the end of class had arrived. Based on the buzz displayed by the pupils when they were leaving the classroom, Miss Benning knew that she had motivated and stimulated the students in her class to stop and think about an essential health and social problem that exists in our country.

Recently, Frank applied for a job as a bouncer at one of the local clubs. He had studied gatka, judo, ninjitsu, aikido, and karate for four years; he was a body builder; he took daily vitamins, supplements, and minerals; he was into healthy eating and health foods; and he seemed well matched for such a position. In truth, due to the fact that he was concerned about his health, he started drinking in moderation about three years ago and then totally quit drinking alcohol about thirteen months ago.

When Frank received notification that he had been selected for the job, he was exceptionally happy. Since this was an elite nightclub, nevertheless, he had to go through a six week training class.

People At Bars Who Drink In a Hazardous Manner and Alcohol Poisoning Symptoms and Signs

On the first day of class, the trainer started talking about people who drink too much and what the barmaids, bartenders, and bouncers should do when this condition arises. When the teacher started speaking about alcohol poisoning, Frank was happy to find out that all of the new barmaids, bouncers, and bartenders had to learn about alcohol poisoning and what they should do when they spotted a person who was displaying alcohol poisoning symptoms or displaying the signs of alcohol poisoning.

More explicitly, all the new bartenders, bouncers, and barmaids learned that vomiting and nausea were almost without exception the first signs of alcohol poisoning and that unconsciousness was in all probability the most highly identifiable alcohol poisoning sign or symptom. The lecturer also made it a point to emphasize the fact that alcohol poisoning signs were messages from the body and from the brain that the individual has consumed more alcohol than his or her body can metabolize.

There were, nevertheless, several other symptoms and signs of alcohol poisoning that all the new barmaids, bouncers, and bartenders were taught to be familiar with. For example, the members in the class learned that people with alcohol poisoning often have seizures, exhibit confusion, exhibit poor reflex responses, and they are difficult to awaken.

Furthermore, the members in the class were made aware that many individuals who have alcohol poisoning also display slurred speech; blue tinged or pale skin; slow, shallow or irregular breathing; and little response from painful stimuli, for instance from pinching.

Additionally, people who have alcohol poisoning frequently exhibit an inability to make eye contact or sustain a conversation, often pass out, they often display erratic behavior, and they usually feel very ill and exhibit excessive vomiting.

A Teacher Spells Out Why An Alcohol Overdose is Not Necessarily Suffered Only by Alcohol Addicted Individuals

The teacher then made it clear that alcohol poisoning is not always experienced only by people who are alcohol dependent.

More precisely, the instructor informed the members in the class that most situations involving alcohol poisoning were almost certainly experienced by alcohol abusers and that a unique type of abusive drinking called “binge drinking” was perhaps the key precipitating factor in most instances of alcohol poisoning. The trainer then defined binge drinking as follows: drinking five or more alcoholic beverages at one sitting for males and consuming four or more alcoholic drinks at one sitting for females.

To illustrate the effect that binge drinking has on alcohol poisoning, the teacher informed the members of the class that a drinker who gets intoxicated just once annually, is by definition engaging in abusive drinking, is most likely not an alcohol addicted individual, but is probably engaging in binge drinking. As stated by the instructor, engaging in binge drinking even once, sadly, can result in alcohol poisoning that in some situations can be fatal.

The Instructor Give Details Why Letting A Person With Alcohol Poisoning Sleep is Not A Suitable Plan of Action

One of the members in the class raised his hand and asked the teacher if it is a good idea to let a person with alcohol poisoning “sleep it off.” The lecturer commented that letting a person with alcohol poisoning sleep is specifically what should not be done because doing so places the person at risk since he or she is no longer being observed. Moreover, letting the drinker sleep when he or she experiences alcohol poisoning is a misguided response because the drinker may never awaken.

The trainer then explained to the members in the class that the best response for alcohol poisoning is the following: if it is suspected that a drinker has alcohol poisoning, call 911 and ask for immediate medical assistance, even if the drinker is underage. By pursuing this course of action, the person will get the prompt alcohol poisoning treatment he or she needs.

Summary

After learning about alcohol poisoning and particularly about the symptoms and signs of alcohol poisoning, it may be pointed out, Frank believed that he had learned some vital information that might save a drinker’s life in the future. Unmistakably, Frank learned that knowledge of the familiar alcohol poisoning symptoms and signs and knowing how to properly and quickly react to such signs and symptoms (by immediately calling 911 and asking for urgent medical assistance) can help a person avoid a fatal alcohol overdose.

An Instructor Explains Why Alcohol Poisoning is Not Inevitably Experienced Only by Alcohol Addicted People

To be sure, Frank learned that knowledge of the predictable alcohol poisoning symptoms and signs and knowing how to quickly and properly respond to such signs and symptoms (by immediately calling 911 and asking for urgent medical assistance) can help an individual avoid a deadly case of alcohol poisoning.

Panic attacks, which incidentally are much the same as anxiety attack, will come quickly, and with a vengeance. They will strike you totally out of the blue. If you are a sufferer I’m sure you would give anything to stop them dead. Your wish could be granted.

First & Worst Attack

My wife was driving when she was struck by her first panic attack. As you can imagine it could have resulted in a nasty end for us both. After she, and me to be honest, got over the shock we did what everybody does. Went to see our doctor.

After the lecture that it’s all in her head we eventually got prescribed beta blockers. I’m using the term “we” here as I felt as much part of it as my wife did. The drugs would (he promised) stop her heart from racing at the onset of an attack, thus stopping the attack. All good in theory.

We tried going out in the car again and sure enough, at the same place she felt another attack looming. Basically she had a panic attack while the drugs kept her heart rate slower. She said it was the strangest feeling having a panic attack but at the same time feeling quite calm.

Put The Drugs Where They Belong….In The Trash

The drugs went straight in the trash as soon as we got home. Me driving this time. My wife never drove, not once, in the next 9 months. She never had a panic attack either, which was a mixed blessing.

We decided we couldn’t carry on like this; her not being able to drive was now causing real problems. I went on the web and did a bit of digging. We tried a few different things, with mixed results. None of them worked properly, at least not for us.

We Tried ‘Em All

I came across yet another “system” that claimed to be a magic bullet. We thought we may as well give it a go. We knew any success wasn’t down to drugs as she wasn’t taking them anymore. Fingers crossed it was looking good. The first time she drove she felt an attacked looming. However she quickly put the method into practice and got through the attack ok.

In our debriefing session later she said that although there was a panic attack, it was no where near as bad as before because of the new system. This knowledge alone boosted her confidence no end. She was sure the next time she could stop it all together. She didn’t.

Bit By Bit

Again though, she managed to lessen its effects. She did this every time it happened. She made it less and less every time. In less than a month she was able to know when an attack loomed. And more importantly stop it completely.

If you are a sufferer you can carry on as you are, or try drugs from your doctor. Which may or may not work? Good luck.

Or you can take the matter into your own hands and stop these panic attacks without drugs; the answer is here at this website…
